VEXAGON
ABOUT:
Vexagon, the musical identity of Briar Moth, began in Augusta, GA in 2018 after Briar suffered a major injury at a nuclear plant. Pulling from a wide variety of genres & 20 years of songwriting experience, Vexagon channels themes of identity, sexuality, & self-actualization through darkwave music.
2021's Love Is Surrender album, based on Twin Peaks, was awarded Best of 2021 by WUSC 90.5 FM Dark Entries Goth Radio, Obscura Undead, Unlit.net, DJ Biochili, & DJ Maus. Love Is Surrender's title track was played by Ellen Allien (DE) & included in her Spotify editorial playlist. 2023's collection A New Flesh Experience on Progress Productions (SE) made the Top 10 Albums of 2023 from Synth.NU, "Number 1 Song of the Year" from DJ Marc Urban (re: Deathwish Kid), & Vexagon's music video for Scream Queen won the Award of Excellence from the GA Communication Association. Ellen Allien again included Vexagon in her work, spinning the opening track Eyes Without A Face in her HÖR Berlin set in June 2023.
Also in 2023, Briar moved to LA to be a part of its thriving music scene, settling into complete a multi-year effort, Vexagon's third album, I For An I, an existential darkwave opus about the nature of the self & the impermanence of life. Vexagon recordings are made with only a Zoom H4, an underpowered netbook, & a bass guitar.
His new album "I For An I" is set for release in Spring 2026 via COLD TRANSMISSION MUSIC.
